Odessa Tormey

CCS Service Facilitator

Services: Service Facilitation & ISD

Hello! My name is Odessa. I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and got my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. I majored in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. With a strong passion for mental health, I began working in the field supporting different clients.

I joined RISE as a Service Facilitator in 2025. I have experience working as a mental health technician helping low-income families and children who have experienced trauma and behavioral diagnoses. My hope is to allow children and their families to feel trusted in my care, obtain their goals, and feel supported. Patient and family centered services are extremely important to me. I have experience working with preschool children all the way up to high school students. I want to help participants feel supported at whatever stage of life they are in. I am committed to serving diverse communities, particularly low-income families and families of color, through culturally responsive and inclusive practices. A few areas of professional interest include violence prevention, restorative justice, trauma informed care, ISD, art-based skill development, and using a person-centered approach with models such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, and mindfulness.

In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, going on walks/hikes, talking about my cat, trying different foods, and painting.
